Here's what's new in beanies.family for 2 october 2026 — improvements to help your family plan, track, and stay organised.
Magic beans is out of beta, the sidebar fits your screen, and the app now reads naturally in Chinese.
New features
Magic beans, out of beta
Its settings now live on a Magic beans card in Settings: how documents are processed and whether to ask before reading a photo. No experimental switch needed.
A sidebar that fits your screen
Only the section you are in starts open; the other two fold to a strip of icons, still one tap away. Help and Discord sit on your profile card.
A shopping list from any meal
Open a planned meal and tap Shopping List: the same checklist the cookbook uses, sized for who is eating that night.
Share a magic link to your other device
The magic link panel has copy and share buttons, so a link made on your phone can go straight to your tablet or laptop.
Chinese that reads like Chinese
Every string in the Chinese interface was rewritten by hand, so it reads like an app written in Chinese rather than a translation.
