delete your data
last updated: 8 July 2026
you're in control
beanies.family is local-first: there's no account on our servers to close, and your family data (finances, activities, goals, to-dos, everyone's details) lives on your own device and, if you turned on sync, in your own Google Drive. that means deleting it is entirely in your hands. here's how to remove everything.
delete everything from inside the app
the quickest way to wipe all of your family data:
- open Settings in beanies.family
- choose "Delete Family & All Data"
-
follow the prompts. the app offers to export a backup first, then permanently removes your
local data and, if you enabled Google Drive sync, deletes the
.beanpodfile from your Drive too
this is irreversible, so export a copy first if you might want your data back.
other ways to remove your data
- clear your browser or app storage: removing beanies.family's site data (or uninstalling the app) deletes everything stored locally on that device
- delete the file from Google Drive: if you used sync, delete the
.beanpodfile from your Drive. you can also revoke the app's access entirely at myaccount.google.com/permissions
once you've done the above, no copy of your family data remains anywhere. we never had a copy to begin with, because we don't store your family content on our servers.
what about diagnostics?
to keep the app working, beanies.family sends us a small amount of diagnostic and error information (never your family content). this is covered in detail in our privacy policy. these logs are PII-free (correlated only by a random id) except when a critical error report includes the account owner's email so we can reach you. they are kept only to investigate and fix problems, and are never sold or used for advertising. if you'd like us to remove any error report tied to your email, contact us via the homepage and we'll delete it.
